Between the hills and the sea
Longspur is the breeding base for our Angus cattle on the rugged hills of Banks Peninsula. Our approach is simple: understand the country, care for it properly, and breed cattle that belong here.
Follow the cattle02 / The whole system
From breeding to finishing
We run the whole cattle system ourselves. That gives us control from the breeding decisions made at Longspur through to the day each animal is finished.

At weaning, the best heifers are retained as future breeding females. The remaining calves move into our finishing system and are managed for steady growth.
Cattle are finished on productive flat country, including the reliable irrigated finishing base at Seabridge. Feed and performance are managed through to a consistent finished animal.
